You Possess a Soul
It’s the Part That Thinks, Feels, and Decides.
You are a spirit.
You live in a body.
But you also possess a sou. and that’s where the real wrestling happens.
Your soul is where you make your decisions.
It’s the space where your thoughts swirl, your emotions rise, and your will either resists or surrenders.
It’s not your enemy—but it is the battleground.
What Is the Soul?
Your soul is made up of three powerful things:
- 🧠 Your mind – where thoughts are formed
- 💛 Your emotions – where feelings live and move
- 📝 Your will – the deciding part of you
You don’t just feel with your soul.
You choose with it.
Why the Soul Is Always Caught in the Middle
Here’s what’s wild:
Your soul is neutral until it agrees with something.
It’s not naturally holy.
It’s not naturally wicked.
It becomes aligned with whatever it sides with—flesh or spirit.
“For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other…”
— Galatians 5:17 (NIV)
That’s the fight.
That’s why you can feel torn—because you are.
Your soul is being pulled in two directions.
The Spirit calls you higher.
The flesh pulls you lower.
And your soul says: Okay… so which one are we choosing today?
If you’ve ever felt like:
- “I want to do better, but I keep falling back.”
- “I know the truth, but I still feel stuck.”
- “I believe God, but my emotions still scream louder.”
You’re not broken. You’re not crazy.
You’re being contended for.
This Is Why Soul Work Matters
Your healing, your maturity, your stability.
it all flows from your soul being renewed.
Because your spirit is ready.
But your soul needs help catching up.
Romans 12:2 says, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
And transformation always starts there—in the soul.
🌱 Pause & Unfold
- What has my soul been agreeing with lately—Spirit or flesh?
- Have I been reacting from emotions or responding from truth?
- What would happen if I surrendered my soul to the Spirit of God daily?
🙏🏽 A Simple Prayer
God, I’ve been pulled in so many directions. I didn’t always understand why I felt so conflicted. Now I see—my soul is in the middle. And You’re not mad about that—You’re fighting for me. Teach my soul to submit to Your Spirit. Help me recognize what I’m agreeing with, and give me the courage to shift. I want my soul to follow You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
🔗 Let’s Finish What We Started
You’ve discovered you are SPIRIT.
You’ve remembered this body is BORROWED.
You’ve seen what your soul carries.
But now it’s time to talk about the war. What happens when your soul gets caught between two forces.
